Gastric plication


 

The procedure consists, by laparoscopic, suturing the left edge of the stomach on itself to create folds that occupy the inside of the stomach and thus decrease the volume of it. The stomach will no longer admit the same volume of food as before and satiety will appear much earlier.
It is performed under general anesthesia, usually involves two days of admission and 7 days of recovery.
As with the rest of procedures for weight loss, it should always be accompanied by a program of reeducation of eating habits and lifestyle.
